IEEE Awards

ELCE students, James Gaston (M.A.Sc. year 1) and Litifa Noor (B.Eng. 4th year) are the prestigious winners of the IEEE Canada (central council) Best Paper and the first “The Dr. Robert T.H. Alden IEEE Canadian Foundation Scholarship” respectively.

James Gaston's project paper on “A swarm of collaborative autonomous robots” won him the Life Member Award of the IEEE Region 7 (Canada) Central Council Award. This project was also the overall best paper winner (undergraduate category) at the ICUE 2003 conference held at Ryerson University.

Litifa Noor's outstanding service to IEEE and ICUE in various organizing roles won her the inaugural “The Dr. Robert T.H. Alden IEEE Canadian Foundation Scholarship”. The previous winners of the IEEE Canadian Foundation Scholarship include Syer Mahboob in 2003 and Anita Ramroop in 2002.
