Short biography of Soosan Beheshti


I was born in Esfahan , Iran, and received the B.S. degree from Isfahan University of Technology, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1996 and 2002, respectively, all in electrical engineering. During my graduate studies, I was member of Signals, Information, and Algorithms Laboratory (formerly Digital Signal Processing Group) and Laboratory for Information and Decision Systems. From 2002 to 2005, I was a postdoctoral associate at MIT and  lectured Discrete-time signal processing (DSP) course for four semesters. During this time, I also served as house master of Greenhall, an MIT dormitory I lived in during my graduate studies. Since July 2005, I have been with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Ryerson University, Toronto, ON, Canada, where I am currently a Professor. I am a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) and a senior member of IEEE.
