About GRC:
The Graduate Research Conference (GRC) highlights the breadth and quality of graduate research across the department through keynote talks and student research presentations spanning diverse engineering domains. The conference fosters discussion, collaboration, and connection within the research community, providing graduate students with a platform to share their work and engage with the latest faculty-led research.
Technical program will include:
- Alumni Panel, moderated by Dr. Ketan Marballi (Postdoctoral and graduate student professional development specialist) to share their study, job searching, and industry/academic working experiences, and advice to our current students
- PhD students — 15 minute presentations
- M.A.Sc. students — 3 minute presentations
- M.Eng. students — project posters
- 4th year undergraduate Engineer Design Project demonstrations
- Award Ceremony
- Career Readiness Booth, by Silvana Mello (Early Talent Recruitment Advisor)

Talent Balloon 10-minute Talk & Career Booth
- Title: From Research to Industry: Preparing Graduate Talent for the Job Market
- Summary: This session focuses on how graduate students can translate their academic experience into industry roles. Through practical insights and employer perspectives, it highlights what helps candidates stand out and navigate the transition into the job market.
- Career Booth (12:00–2:00 PM): Ask career-related questions and receive practical advice on job searching and resume review.
We are pleased to welcome a special guest, Silvana Mello, Founder and CEO of Talent Balloon, who will be joining us for an engaging session and career booth.
Submit Your Work
- Eligibility: You are a Master’s or PhD student, or a 4th-year undergraduate student in Electrical, Computer, or Biomedical Engineering at TMU.
- Submission: Fill out the Google Form and include an abstract of 200 words or less.
