CFI Research Funding for Communication and Signal Processing Applications Laboratory

In an announcement by Industry Minister Allan Rock, the Communication and Signal Processing Applications Laboratory (CASPAL), led by Dr. Xiao-Ping Zhang received a grant worth $148,984 from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI).

The grant will be used to establish a state-of-the-art R&D facility for signal processing applications and communications. The facility will build upon Ryerson's Canada Research Chair in Multimedia and Computer Technology, held by Dr. Ling Guan. The facility will also serve as an advanced research and training environment for graduate students in the new graduate programs.

CFI provided about one-third of the funds and provincial and private sector sponsorship provided the rest.
