Topic Category

Software Systems

Preamble

Health-care IT solution companies are investing millions of dollars to provide health-care practitioners (such as hospitals and doctors) with apps that they can use to efficiently co-ordinate patient information, schedule timely medical examinations, provide timely advice, and administer medication as required. Such apps are to be accessed through laptops and smartphones. They are to be accessed by both health-care practitioners and patients for reading and entering relevant information. Data access is to be restricted to relevant parties through good authentication techniques.

Objective

Develop a smartphone graphical user-interface based app that helps managing patient information for medical appointments, and timely feedback.

Partial Specifications

* Develop back-end code in a suitable programming environment/language
using existing libraries available in that environment/language.
* Develop graphical user interface (GUI) using a suitable UI code library
such that the UI code is able to interact with the back-end code.

Suggested Approach

* Investigate literature/information on requirements of such an application.
* Investigate Database Management Systems for data storage and access.

Group Responsibilities
